Edge Composites approaches manufacturing the way a world-class wine maker approaches his craft — as a personal, passion-fueled, detail-intensive process. The result is a collection of uncommonly special products standing starkly against the ordinary. For two years, Edge Composites has supplied select industry brands with our finest homegrown, industry-leading materials. Now, we take our experience with an all-star crew of engineers to push the envelope in creating the cycling industry’s fastest, most technologically advanced race accessories. Edge is more than a name. It’s a philosophy.

Edge founder Jason Schiers puts it succinctly: “We want to change people’s perspectives on what a carbon fiber product can be.”

Edge Composites takes great pride in the construction, finishing, and inspection of each bicycle component that we produce. When our components are purchased new, through an Edge authorized dealer we guarantee them to be free from defect in material and workmanship. This warranty is valid for 2 years from the original date of purchase from an authorized Edge dealer.

Edge Road Bars

Carbon experts Edge Composites first entry into the road handle bar market does not disappoint. Focusing on strength and comfort rather than light weight, this amazing carbon bar still tips the scales at 190g. The bar is double grooved on the underside for cables and features a semi-flat hand section on top as well as a slight ergo bend. There is a textured section to aid in brake set up and at the center of the bar to prevent stem slippage. This bar also features an innovative rubber cap at the bar end which eliminates the need for bar plugs.

Edge Mountain Flat Bar 25.4

Edge's "Mountain Flat" bar is a strong bar, while maintaining a svelte 145g. It's light enough to satisfy the weight requirements of the lightest cross-country rigs, while strong enough to inspire confidence for larger riders. With the thickest section of tubing tapering to 33mm, the Mountain Flat is strong. Compare that to Easton's highly-regarded Monkey Lite XC with a 23mm thickness, and you'll understand why we think so highly of it.

Edge Mountain Riser Bar, 31.8

Edge describes their "Mountain Riser" as "our all-everything bar". And they do so for two reasons: it's reasonably light, within a few grams of the lightest Easton and Bontrager cross country bars, and quite strong. We measured the wall thickness of several of our high-end carbon bars, and the Edge lead the group, with .2 to .3mm thicker walls. It's a visually perceivable difference, as well as a difference that should give larger, aggressive riders confidence in the strength of the bar. The bar measures 27.5-inches wide and are marked for cutting if you'd like to take them down in width.

Edge 1.38 Carbon Tubular Rim

Drawing upon their over 25 years experience in the composites industry and their passion for cycling, the folks at Edge Composites have created an innovative new product line with their 1.0 series tubular carbon rims.

Using a proprietary molding process in which the spoke holes are molded and not drilled, Edge has created a spoke interface that permits the running of higher spoke tensions without compromising the integrity of the rim. And not only does the spoke interface allow for higher tension, it is designed to enhance the durability of the wheel as a whole by limiting spoke fatigue. The result is a low maintenance, long lasting, and highly durable wheel. Other features of Edge's unique molding process include an elevated brake surface for optimized braking performance and longer rim life, and impact resistant sidewall construction for overall durability.

This 1.38 tubular rim has a 38mm deep aerodynamic section with molded spoke holes.

Edge Composites recommends Swiss Stop's yellow "King" compound brake pads for use on their rims.

Edge 26" XC Clincher

The benefits of the Edge XC Rim over other light-weight aluminum rims are considerable. First of all, the XC is strong, building in to a much stiffer wheel then cross country aluminum rims. Durability is also an asset, with a special sidewall laminate and wide 24-millimeter rim width further increasing strength. Edge says the aluminum counterparts "pale in comparison", and we couldn't agree more. These wheels build in to some of the stiffest, lightest, and strong wheels.
